Who We Are

We are three lifelong musicians who came together in early 2023 to explore our love of fusing classical music with our myriad of musical influences.

Kellyjoy started to learn the piano at 4 years old, and she excelled in classical music throughout childhood. For the last three decades, she has improvised off of classical music, creating more of a trance like sound with the phrases that interested her. She used her love of improvisation and her classical knowledge to create a mediation practice for herself, and for those that she played for.

Rory had always wanted to play the classical guitar compositions he learned in college in a new way. Rory has been involved in several music projects where he has explored his own talent for creating compositions. He also dreamed of the opportunity to find like minded musicians to create both new and re-imagined classical works. As a guitarist, he has explored multiple genres and he was ready to come into a new project that fed this deep part of his musical talent.

Alik is a wonderful guitarist and bassist in his own rite. Having been playing guitar for over 3 decades, Alik has landed in his love of the upright and electric bass. He has played in too many bands to count, Alik has played in bluegrass, rock, funk and country bands throughout the years in Portland, Oregon. Rory and Alik played together in a band called Weekend Assembly for over 10 years where they performed countless shows around Oregon.

Alik knew that Rory and Kellyjoy needed to meet on a musical level, and ever since that meeting… Lucid Fusion was formed.
